Matariki marks the Māori New Year, a time of remembrance, reflection and renewal. As the Matariki star cluster rises in the winter sky, it invites us to honour those who have passed, celebrate the present, and look forward with hope to the future.

The mountains featured in this design represent strength, belonging and connection to the whenua. Standing beneath the stars, they remind us of the importance of returning to our roots, finding grounding in the places that shape us, and carrying the wisdom of the past into a new season.

Designed by Tyla Thorpe, the Matariki Lamp brings these elements together in a warm and uplifting glow. Reflecting the essence of hauora, it creates a space for connection, reflection and new beginnings, celebrating the relationship between the land below and the stars above.
